New Mexico Statewide Data

NMCSAP collects data about the impact of sexual violence, service provision, and community needs by utilizing a statewide data collection tool contributed to by all state funded SA programs, conducting statewide needs assessments, and through ongoing taskforce and stakeholder meetings.

Additionally, in 2024, NMCSAP conducted the first NM Crime Victimization Survey in twenty years in partnership with the Catherine Cutler Institute and American Indian Development Associates. The purpose of the New Mexico Crime Victimization Survey was to understand the extent of criminal victimization, crime reporting, and assistance seeking for four types of crime (stalking, rape, sexual assault, and domestic violence) and to identify differences in rates between demographic groups. The findings offer a critical opportunity to address cycles of violence and invest in comprehensive solutions that prioritize safety and healing for all people in New Mexico.

Data Report Archives

In response to a 1996 VAWA funded statewide assessment on the sources and availability of domestic violence and sexual assault data in New Mexico, the New Mexico Interpersonal Violence Data Central Repository was established in 1999 to house collected, standardized, annual data from statewide law enforcement agencies, service provider agencies, and the courts on the crimes of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking.

The annual reports produced up until 2022 are archived here.
